Membership in the Lakes Region Curling Association is open to all residents of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region and beyond who are 14 years of age or older. Membership in the LRCA includes:
- Eligibility to participate in LRCA leagues. (Each league schedule requires a separate registration.)
- Accident coverage for LRCA events
- Voting privileges for board elections and eligibility to run for the LRCA board.
The Lakes Region Curling Association organizes open leagues – that is, composed of both men and women of all ages. Residents of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region, with or without prior curling experience, are encouraged to join.
Membership begins at the time of registration and extends through June 30 of the following year.
Participants under the age of 16 are expected to be accompanied by an adult during curling events, and applicants under the age of 18 need the written approval of a parent or guardian.
For more information about the LRCA, download our brochure.
The LRCA runs two curling leagues each year. The Fall league runs on Sundays from mid-October to mid-December, with a break for Thanksgiving weekend, and the Winter league runs Sundays from mid-January to mid-March, with a break for Super Bowl Sunday.
Curling matches last about two hours. About a half hour is allocated for setup and breakdown of equipment before and after each match.
To participate in the Winter 2022 league, print and complete:
- A Winter 2022 league registration form
- An adult waiver form or a youth waiver form (age 15-17), as appropriate
Because curling takes place on an icy surface, and because of the need to protect everyone during the ongoing pandemic, curlers need to acquaint themselves with several policies that govern participation in LRCA activities at Pop Whalen Ice Arena:
